C++ outranks Java in the Tiobe Programming Community Index for December 2002. For the first time in the index’s history, Java did not place among the top three languages.
According to Paul Jansen, CEO of software quality services provider Tiobe, “Performance is still very essential today and C++ is the quickest large system programming language out now.” The situation for Java is not hopeless, he insisted. Java currently has nothing to be concerned about. I am saying this because it also grew in popularity in 2022 (plus-1.70%), but not as much as the top three languages.”
