WAEC receives fresh reports of exam malpractice. According to the Council, the culprits have been handed over to the Police for further investigation and prosecution.
The offenders include: teachers, candidates and examination supervisors.
Speaking to JoyNews, WAEC’s Legal Head, Rev. Victor Brew, said the Council has liaised with the Police to file 13 cases in Court.
“We’ve had three completed cases where we secured two convictions and one where there was no conviction,” he explained.
According to JoyNews’ Samuel Mbura, who was present at the Council’s press conference on Monday, WAEC is working with the National Intelligence Bureau to monitor the printing of question papers.
This, he explained, is one of the measures WAEC is taking to combat examination malpractice.
“They [WAEC] will also work closely with a number of security agencies to track down and arrest rogue website dealers and operators.” All depots across the country have been inspected. Some of the exam papers are also being serialized. “They are also building new depots for the storage of sensitive materials,” Mr Mbura said on Joy FM’s Midday News.

How does monitoring the printing of WAEC level questions by a whole nations intelligence bureau fix this? This is only proof that they were not doing it “properly” in the first place.
This is a very inefficient solution. Definitely this would occur again
