On Monday, Xiaomi unveiled the quadrupedal CyberDog robot in India. With 11 high-precision sensors, including touch sensors, cameras, and GPS modules, the robot can sense and interact with its surroundings thanks to Nvidia’s Jetson Xavier AI platform.

The Xiaomi CyberDog can respond to voice instructions and has a 128GB SSD storage capacity. It may be operated using the included remote control or a connected smartphone app, and it responds to wake-up orders.

In Mi Homes in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, the CyberDog will be on display. The CyberDog was initially introduced in February 2022 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The Chinese smartphone company displayed the four-legged robot CyberDog on Monday in a few Indian cities as it celebrated eight years since it first entered the Indian market.

The robot is constructed using a 128GB SSD and the Jetson Xavier NX AI Supercomputer for Embedded Edge Systems from Nvidia.

This AI supercomputer has 2 deep learning acceleration engines, 384 Cuda cores, 48 Tensor cores, 6 Carmel Arm CPUs, and 48 Tensor cores. Additionally, it employs open-source algorithms.

According to Xiaomi, the CyberDog is quick to adjust to changing terrain. To process data, it features 11 sensors, including cameras, GPS units, touch and an ultrasonic sensor.

The CyberDog also has a variety of camera sensors, such as AI-based cameras, binocular ultra-wide-angle fisheye cameras, and an Intel RealSense D450 depth module for tracking objects and removing barriers from a navigation map.

The CyberDog is supposed to be able to travel up to 3.2 meters per second and execute tricks like backflips thanks to internal servo motors made by Xiaomi that can produce up to 32 Nm of torque and 220 revolutions per minute rotations.

It is said to recognize wake phrases and commands and allow voice commands-based control. A remote control or a smartphone app can also be used to control the robot. Users can pair the CyberDog with a searchlight, panoramic camera, motion camera, and LiDAR thanks to the robot’s three USB Type-C connectors, three HDMI ports, and other communication options.
